Whether you're an occasional or full-time RVer, understanding the basic principles of water filtration is essential to your health and good RVing experience. Besides a simple strainer commonly installed to protect a freshwater pump from large particles, there are more refined filters meant to eliminate bad taste, unpleasant odors, chlorine, and various sediments that can be present in the water piped from campgrounds. The market offers several types of filtering systems that include inline, canister, and reverse osmosis filters, and many of them are available on our virtual shelves.
Inline filters are considered the most basic solution, although many models are quite effective. Rated at a certain GPM capacity, such a filter may include activated carbon to make drinking water much healthier, while special solutions prevent bacteria from growing while the filter is not in use. Canister models can work alone or in two- or three-stage modules including two or three filters providing more refined purification, say, 0.2 microns at the third stage. Many of them can protect from bacteria, water-borne cysts, and even some viruses while dramatically improving taste and smell. A large assortment of RV water filters is offered in our online store.
