RV Water Filter Cartridges

Available in different types, RV water filters are meant to provide you with healthy, good-tasting water which is free from rust, algae, chlorine, particles, and even certain bacteria. However, the filtering ability and performance of different models are not the same, and when it comes to canister filters, their efficiency is often determined by replaceable cartridges. Many of these parts follow certain standards in terms of size and can fit the filters by different brands, but their filtering media and barrier diameters in microns can greatly vary.

In two- or three-stage canister systems, the cartridges also differ. Typically, the first cartridge provides rough cleaning from rust, sand, and sediments. The second one cleans water in a more refined manner and may contain activated carbon. In a three-stage module, it can be used to reduce water hardness and the level of chlorine and toxic heavy metals (copper and lead). The third cartridge normally includes activated carbon and provides the finest filtration to remove bad odors and smell, along with some other stuff you don't want to be in your drinking cup.
