Dometic RV® - Fantastic™ White Insulated Dome Roof Vent Lid

I replaced the factory-installed fan with a fantastic 1250. The fan is great but found it would not open under the MaxxAir II so I ordered these. First, the maxxair smoke was a hard plastic that was like tinted glass and you could see well through it. Although a bit brittle. This is more durable but is like a foggy gray milk carton. You can't really see through it. I preferred to look up and see the trees, but had no options if I wanted my fan to open. The gray is more expensive, so I thought it would be clearer. Next, the fan had some reviews about a whistling sound. Mine didn't have that at all. Well, now until it installed this. It made the fan noticeably louder and somewhat annoying. Last, ok this is a Dometic fantastic made for their fans I'd they made it two inches taller that fan may open all the way. But it does not. It is maybe 75 to 80 percent which astounds me. You'd think it would be designed to allow it to fully open. Now the small details. There is no logo on the cover. It is Smokey gray thick plastic, not like the pics. The screen isn't included so list is around 20 dollars each for that. I skipped it for now and may add my own screening. So why not a 1 star. It does what it says it will, just lacks proper engineering design. CAMPERiD had great prices and were easy to buy from, I'd buy from them again. Fast delivery so to me those things drive up the score.
