RV Bumper Plugs & Caps

Many people store a sewer hose in their RV’s bumper. If you are among them, you certainly know that good air circulation is paramount in this case for the obvious reason. Virtually all standard bumper plugs and caps have a hole which is large enough to allow a sufficient flow of air. It also comes in useful when you need to remove those units in order to pull a sewer hose out of storage when it is required. On the downside, it allows different kinds of flying insects to enter and even build their nests there. This is the main reason why many RVers replace stock components with the aftermarket units, like those from Camco, which have many small holes instead of just a big one.

They are easy to install and remove thanks to a squeeze grip. Some manufacturers such as RC Designer offer bumper caps with a hinged door that also features small holes to ensure proper air circulation. Another reason for replacement is more mundane: stock parts wear out over time. Besides, they can get damaged and lost.
